Muriel Sarkany sends Rollito Sharma Extension, 8c

Muriel Sarkany chose to spend her winter season in Santa Linya, Spain. Last weekend, she stranded literally two fingers from the chain of Rollito Sharma Extension. After a weeklong break in Belgium, she finished her project. She only needed one more day for a successful attempt. This is yet another 8c she can add to her already impressive list of ascents.

It did not come easy though. At the end of 2009, she sent the short version, Rollito Sharma, 8b+. When Muriel returned this winter, she noticed that a hold had broken, so she had to start all over again, figuring out new methods. She had to put a lot of energy into it. Once she passed this difficulty, she had to fight very hard in the final part of the route. To get through the crux, Muriel had to use a small flake no one else uses, because of her small size… Today, she completed the ascent and she tells us she is super contente. You’d be happy for less!
