Two of Belgium's strongest boulderers took a trip to Albarracin in Spain for some 8th grade bouldering. Both Jan De Smit and Michel Walraet succeeded in climbing 8A, Jan also added two 8A+ problems to his tick-list.
The island of Kalymnos is not only extremely popular with tourists, but also with climbers. In October, a Belgian delegation set foot on the majestic island enabling Jérôme Abraham to add a new 8b+, Draconian Devil to his tick-list.
Olivier Mignon spent a lovely three days in the enchanted forest of Magic Wood in Swiss. Notwithstanding the rain he succeeded in adding a new 8A bloc, Nothing Change, to his already impressive tick list.
Notwithstanding the fact that 8 grade bouldering is only for the happy few, the Belgian top boulderors are enjoying a wonderful season. After Nicolas Mathieu, Jan De Smit also succeeded in climbing Neverland, 8A in Fontainebleau.
The Belgian Bouldering wonder kids are still having a lot of fun in Hampi. Since a couple of days Olivier Mignon and Nicolas Mathieu, both 8 grade climbers, were joined by yet another Belgian, Jan De Smit. The band sent a lot of boulders including 8A.
The Walloon Region do not laugh with rules. She just forbids climbing in the Rocher du Vignoble (Sy) and in the Rochers de la Vierge (Comblain). This is the consequence of an absence of environment licence for these two crags.
