We were just informed about the sudden and unexpected decease of Chloé Graftiaux in the Alps. She fell during the descent from the Aiguille de Peuterey. We support her family with all our hearts.
This is the email we received shortly after the accident.
Dear friends,
Anne François received message from the PGHM of Courmayeur and from Nicolas, the climbing partner, that Chloé fell yesterday when descending from the south face summit of l'aiguille noire de Peuterey (Italian side of Mont Blanc Massif). Yesterday, it was nice and they had happily eaten at the summit. In the descent, misfortune, she was dragged by a block and had a terrible 600 m fall. That place is easy for alpinists and in generally they're no longer tied up.
I'm with her in Chambéry and when Alix returns from the South we'll all head to Courmayeur this afternoon. We think about a happy tibute despite the terrible loss, in France (Chamonix or Aussois) ...
