Bye bye 2008. Now it's 2009!

On the Belgian climbing scene, 2008 was a good year. We published 206 news this year, proof that there is act in our flat land. Among those, some deserve to be pointed out.

• The first female 8c of Muriel Sarkany with Drop City at Geyikbayiri, Turkey
• Send of Cobra Crack, 8b+ trad by Nicolas Favresse in Squamish, Canada
• A bit more south, the first free climb of the Secret Passage by Sean Villanueva / Nicolas Favresse in Yosemite
• The doors of the 9th degree for Jérôme De Boeck with his first 8c+, Ultimate Sacrifice in Gorges du Loup near Nice, France
• The end of the race to the Seven Summits for Willy Troch, the highest summits of the seven continents
• Concerning competitions, 4th place for Chloé Graftiaux at the Bouldering European Championship in Paris
• And the final victory the second year in a row for Mathilde Brumagne in the general ranking of the European Youth Series
