Bye bye 2008. Now it's 2009!
On the Belgian climbing scene, 2008 was a good year. We published 206 news this year, proof that there is act in our flat land. Among those, some deserve to be pointed out.
- The first female 8c of Muriel Sarkany with Drop City at Geyikbayiri, Turkey
- Send of Cobra Crack, 8b+ trad by Nicolas Favresse in Squamish, Canada
- A bit more south, the first free climb of the Secret Passage by Sean Villanueva / Nicolas Favresse in Yosemite
- The doors of the 9th degree for Jérôme De Boeck with his first 8c+, Ultimate Sacrifice in Gorges du Loup near Nice, France
- The end of the race to the Seven Summits for Willy Troch, the highest summits of the seven continents
- Concerning competitions, 4th place for Chloé Graftiaux at the Bouldering European Championship in Paris
- And the final victory the second year in a row for Mathilde Brumagne in the general ranking of the European Youth Series

Competition 7th in Kranj, Anak Verhoeven ends up 4th of the World Cup 2014
Last weekend, it is with a 7th place in Kranj that Anak Verhoeven finishes her first adults international season. Being very regular, the Belgian finishes like she started. With a place in the final. Anak got a 4th place in the general ranking.

Competition Loic Timmermans in silver at the Youth World Championships in Nouméa
Loic Timmermans ends in a perfect way his youth career. He has been on so many podium since he is a young kid and got this morning his last medal. During the Youth World Championship that took place in Nouméa, the Belgian ended in silver in Junior.
