It still isn?t really the winter, not too cold yet. It was already like that a couple of weeks ago at Fontainebleau. Temperatures were already decreasing. During the night, they were even close to 0°C and during the day, we thought it was quite cold. No other solution in this case to go bouldering a bit. Three complete days that were part of my program of the beginning of November!

It?s at the Isatis and Rocher aux Sabots sectors that we were the first two days. Two real paradises. The night before the 3rd day it rained and the only solution for us was the 95.2. But this sector is as well as the others!

A really good stay surely because of the group that was with me. And also because of the appropriate equipment I took with. You have to have warm clothes on cold days to appreciate. Just like having a good beer on the evening after a day bouldering, all this comfortably muffled up.

This year I experienced this two times thanks to Patagonia. The Capilene® 3 Zip Neck seems to be the first clothe to wear if you want to go outside and be warm. When climbing I didn?t feel any cold and during the breaks, the baselayer was more than enough. Once night fall temperatures went quickly down and I started putting clothes over the baselayer. I put four other clothes starting with the baselayer then a fleece without sleeves, another with sleeves and Patagonia?s Micro Puff without sleeves. Quite comfortable...

During the climbing, the baselayer offered a total liberty of action. I didn?t even notice it was a baselayer. It was always good and procured me always just enough heat.
We could think all the baselayers have this quality. This one has a couple more than the others. Patagonia managed to make of it a clothe you can wear every day with style. Nothing to do with the baselayers matching your body. We are dealing with a very well cut piece and you will never feel the seam. And other big advantage: I didn?t have the feeling that after three days my partners were pinching their noses when I was coming. A perfect sweat evacuation during any kind of effort. A very good product for a very good brand!

A bit of theory: the Capilene® models are made from polyester (compared to the Wool products made of Merinos wool). Four categories are proposed: from 1 to 4 in function of the thickness and the kind of effort. Here 3.
