Indoorclimbing.com

Maarten

For those not soo lucky to stick to an exotic crack this summer, I've got another nice little website for you: indoorclimbing.com
Hmm... name doesn't sound very exotic.... Neither do the contents, but since it rains ten days out of nine for the moment, I don't want to torture myself with nice hot climbing pics ;-)

Contents

The website consists of different sections, but only one of then is really worth visiting. There's a chapter about building your own climbing wall at home, one about training and preparation for competitions, something about climbing gear, but above all.... the only real climbing game!
The game's called cyber-climber and it's a lot better than the other climbing sim you can also find somewhere on the Internet. The aim is to reach the top of the climbing route without making more than fived "bad moves". You can choose out of about 45 routes, varying from very easy to very hard. Just like in any good real world climbing hall, climbing routes are changed regularly.
Sometimes there are even hold online competitions (there is one going on this very moment) in which the number of "bad moves" is count and the time to reach the top is recorded.

Layout

Nothing special.

Conclusion

The game was quite addicting to me, but I was also quickly bored with it. It's a nice way to pass some time if you don't have anything better to do. As far as I know, it's the only real climbing computer game.... but I'm afraid Nintendo is not planning to bring it out soon. :-)

All right, now it's your turn to have a look: http://www.indoorclimbing.com

Anyway I wish you a lot of nice wheather!  Maarten
