Wim Smets summits Lhotse
Wim Smets summited Lhotse this morning at 5h15am. With this last great performance, he just became the first Belgian alpinist to have summited five 8000-meter peaks. Wim first climbed Cho Oyu in October 2006 before then to successively make the ascent of Everest in 2007, Broad Peak in 2011 and Manaslu in 2012. Wim’s success relies in particular on a careful preparation and organisation of his whole expedition added to a deep physical training.
