Kevin Lopata climbs 8c+ in Freyr
There are few unclimbed projects left in Freyr. Last Sunday Kevin Lopata climbed one of the last open projects. The line, Galaxy, was bolted at the end of the eighties by Arnould t’Kind and has remained unclimbed until now. Galaxy is not the first hard tick in Freyr for the Frenchman from Lille. The last few years, he sent a number of hard climbs there.
To climb this route he needed about ten sessions, spread over two years. "The route is completely my style, the start is not too pumpy (start in Karkass), a good rest under the overhang and then full throttle for a fingery finale, where you have to be very fast and precise. Crimping a muerte! It’s a very physical line, with a hard shoulder move and a committing dyno at the end. A jewel in Freyr and at the limit of my abilities. Short power endurance on the fingers."
Kevin suggests a grade of 8c+, which needs confirmation.

It has been quiet around Muriel Sarkany the last few months, but it was for a good reason. Last week, the 38-year-old Belgian sent Fish Eye, a very long 8c of 50m in Oliana, Spain.
Almost one year since his visit to Siurana, Nicolas Favresse sent the project he bolted last year in sector Campi Qui Pugui. Vacunamatata adds 10 ultra-technical meters to the 8c+ Chikane.
