Vivid Landscapes, Haroun Souirji’s new film

Clear, sharp, sparkling. Vivid Landscapes, Haroun Souirji’s latest film pays tribute to the colors of South-Africa: blue, orange and red. The film follows the path of French climber Mélissa Le Névé in Rocklands. With this movie, Haroun wants to draw attention to the peace and quiet of the Rocklands, which is something climbers seem to have more and more trouble with. “My goal is to capture the moment without staging anything. Apart from a few planned shots when leaving home, it has worked very well.” This led to a powerful film. Gone are the experiments of his earlier films (Simple Reasons, Better Than Chocolate). Having learnt from his previous work, Souirji has grown into an expert filmmaker.
