Wim Smets summits Lhotse
Wim Smets summited Lhotse this morning at 5h15am. With this last great performance, he just became the first Belgian alpinist to have summited five 8000-meter peaks. Wim first climbed Cho Oyu in October 2006 before then to successively make the ascent of Everest in 2007, Broad Peak in 2011 and Manaslu in 2012. Wim’s success relies in particular on a careful preparation and organisation of his whole expedition added to a deep physical training.

There's the Mans's 24 hours for cars. The Hawaian Ironman for triathlon. And the Pierra Menta for alpin skiing. Last weekend, The Belgian Maximilien Drion walked on the highest marched of the junior podium.
Chloé Caulier's recent climbing choices seem to pay off. Decided to focus on bouldering, her climbing level keeps going up since. Last weekend she finished 4th at the Climbing Works International Festival in Sheffield.
